Chromatography.  That's a weird  name isn’t it?  But it’s science so that's what we’re talking about today.  Chromatography is something scientists can use to identify criminals by notes they left.  You can do Chromatography.

Experiment

 

You will need

4 different branded pens,4 pieces of either paper towel or thick paper and 4 cups.

 

 

Directions : 1.  Fill the cups with water.

                  2.  Color a circle of ink on each of paper towel. Make

sure to put a different branded pen on each piece  of paper towel.  3.  Dip the pieces of paper towel into the cups of water with the pen side up.    What happens.       

 

The water starts to creep up the paper towel and the ink separates into several different colors!

We just got some harvester ants. we put them in our ant works container. this is what harvester ants look like in action.

you might not believe this but ants can carry up to four times their weight. did you know most of the colony is female. the queen only produces one to two males a year!

the mentos have holes in them . carbon bubbles come out the bubbles out so fast it makes a eruption.

How do plants get there food?

Well the roots suck up the water.The water goes up the stem and into the leaves. The leaves suck air in through tiny holes. Things called chloroplasts catch sun light and mix the air and water into the sun light. Then they squirt out a kind of sugar.

how do rainbows form?

Well rainbows form like this.  after it rains the sun shines down on earth. The water bends the light and separates the 6 different colors from the light. How? White light is filed with color and water separates them.

what is the biggest planet?

well the sun is the hottest and the biggest planet in the universe as far as we know. and how far do you know. oh quit it no jokes. oh you think you can stop us. I SAID STOP! the sun is so hot you could cook a  stake in less the ten sec!!! the sun is so big that 1,000,000 earths could fit in it! according to my research the sun is 1 inch. go on with your jokes.

how does water brake rock?

yeah how does water brake rock? rock is permanent. lets just see about that.  stop with the jokes and let me tell you how water brakes rock! water VS rock hahaha. I said ENOTH! ok the water goes through a process we call erosion. erosion is when water gets into a crack in the rock. the water freezes and the ice crystals  grow so big that  it splits the rock. this usually takes a few days. hard to believe hahaha. go on with your jokes ha. how do you get a cold?

well there’s a special kind of germ called a virus. a virus is the smallest living thing on earth! for example here’s a experiment. this is how you can grow your own germs. get three tall cups. fill each one with tap water. put a cube of bullion in each cup. put vinegar in one and salt in the other leave the third cup alone. this experiment will take 5 days.   

How do clouds form?

Yeah how do clouds form?  Well, water evaporates and turns into a gas we call water vapor.  The water vapor is carried up by hot air.  The water vapor comes together and makes a cloud.  I have a experiment and a tip.  The experiment is get a balloon fill it with warm air.  What happens?  It floats!  Because warm air is lighter than cold air so it lifts the balloon up.  Here's the tip.  You can tell when a storm is coming because the water vapor makes your hair stand up and frizz.  This is what I call a sunny day!

why does the center of the earth have lots of gravity

well I think it’s magnetism . because almost everything has a bit of iron in it. for example here’s a experiment. get a cup. fill it up half way up with water. get a cork .split the cork in half. get a magnetized needle. put the needle on the cork. put the cork on the water. what happens? the needle turns N. because of the earths magnetism. 

did you know you can eat insects?

well you could. Only if it has 6 legs or under its edible. I don't have a experiment for this one but I do have a tip. next time you go camping catch some crickets and fry them and put one in a smor.

did you know if you eat red food and water you would be red?

Well you would .Because you’re cells only get red food.for example here’s a experiment. get a plant . put the plant in a pot or a vase water it with colored water. what happens? the plant turns the color of the water. Because the cells only get colored water.

how dose snow form?

how dose snow form? Well on a hot day the water vapor turns into clouds. then on a cold  day the water in the clouds freezes. For example here’s a experiment. Get a bowl of water. Put the bowl in a cold place for about a day.
